Re: Best Cover - only need to last 1 baby

Another vote for Whisper Pants and/or Thirsties Duos

The whisper pants really do seem to be the most comfortable and useful even if they are sort of ugly If my baby could vote, I bet he'd pick the whisper pants. And you can't beat $5 a pair. They especially would be useful at night if you have a larger size because they are so roomy and can accommodate a big diaper.

The Thirsties Duos have a snap option, which is really nice because it keeps the covers looking new for so long. Also, we always have the boys in pants, but inevitably the diaper sticks out the top a little bit and the Thirsties solid colors always seem to coordinate well with their clothes even if the colors are different. I love their colors and the simple look and the fit.

Re: Best Cover - only need to last 1 baby

I picked thirsties duo myself. My little one is due in April. I like the idea of 2 sizes - not too many to be overwhelming and have to purchase a new batch every 2 months, but at least sized to some extent so that the 1s actually do fit a newborn unlike some of the other one sized out there. Thirsties see pretty affordable too compared to some others I've seen - and they have really good reviews.

Hmmmm. Are there one size prefolds?? I have only seen sized.... I'm intrigued.

I'm open to both. DH would probably prefer the trifold since it seems less complicated!

Definitely going to try the whisper pant... I'm ok with function over form if it means a comfy babe!!

Re: Best Cover - only need to last 1 baby

I got a bunch of covers for DD for birth through 6 months. My favorites were actually econobum, bummis SWW, and IMSE VIMSE. My least favorites were thirsties, flips, and Bummis SB, and Kushies. Now at 9 months we've sold everything except the econobum and Bummis SWW.

Just try them out and figure out which materials you like, it's hard to describe but you either like a cover or you don't. I really wanted to like the Thirsties and Flips but just didn't like the materials or the way they fit.

Maybe I have 2 lemons, but I hate the thirsties duo covers. The snap down part on one doesn't snap and the other one pops open too easily. I really like all of the bummis covers, but my favorite is the blueberry one size cover. I haven't tried flips.

My favorites are Imse Vimse & Bummis super whisper wraps (I prefer the snap ones). I'm a big fan of Motherease covers (love, love, love the Airflows but you'd need to Snappi a prefold in those), Flips & Econobums.

I wasn't a Thirsties Duo fan either. My little guy outgrew the Duo size 2's at 12 months.

My Mood:
I use duo size ones... Then switched to flip covers. Flips the elastic wears but not a big deal if you only need to last 1 kid

Apologizing in advance for iPhone typos/autocorrect
