HELP...a frustrated new CDing Mom...
HELP!!! I need to find a good dipe/inserts/doublers (whatever) for a VERY HEAVY WETTER! My 4 month DD is 16lbs w/ 11" thighs We bought and have been using med FB with Joey Bunz liners. Most times after 1 hr in the FB (or fitteds Ive tried a few of them too) I better change or next wetting will be ALL over her. Most heavily around her legs. Twice today she was wearing a fresh one for 10-20 min and her first time wetting was everywhere, but the inside of the dipe.
Seriously when I took the diaper off, it wasnt even wet...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Im just starting and determined to make these work for my dd's sensitive skin!! THANKS

Re: HELP...a frustrated new CDing Mom...
If the inside of the dipe is not wet, but you're leaking, you're having a repelling issue. This is probably caused by buildup on your dipes. What you need to do is strip your dipes. I use Dawn dishwashing liquid for this.
Do a cold soak, then a hot wash with a squirt of Dawn, then several more rinses until there are no more bubbles. |

oh, and what detergent do you use? FB repel very easily if you do not use the right kind of detergent. I would suggest Allen's, Bio-Kleen, or washing soda and Simple Green.

Re: HELP...a frustrated new CDing Mom...
Really sounds like a buildup issue to me if the inside of the dipe isn't wet.
SORRY!For my heavy wetter at night I use a pocket w/microfiber inserts or a hemp OSF. Believe it or not I don't even need a cover w/our Hemp OSF! |

yes.... Buildup sounds right! Did you buy them new or used? If used.. it was probably that way when you got the dipes.. make sure you do not use fabric softener.. and only about 1/4 of the reg amount of soap (or less) I used melalueca soap and only 2 tbsp!

Re: HELP...a frustrated new CDing Mom...
As far as inserts go for a heavy wetter we ended up using IPF. We tried so many inserts and we would ahve to use something like 6 MOE for a 2 hour time period. We were using at one point 3 Joeybunz because she was such a heavy wetter.
So, the IPF were our best option. HTH

Hey, I got your pm but figured I'd reply here.
It definitely sounds like a build-up issue to me.As far as inserts, I've never used Joey Bunz -- the ones I bought new came with clothdaddy 4-layer hemp inserts and that's what stopped my leak issues. One during the day and two at night.
