I bought a new stroller for ds with his carseat and have used it twice. I prefer wearing him. With a nb though I will probably wear the newb and use a stroller only when needed (he'll be almost 2). Unless I get brave enough to wear the newb in the moby in front and him in the mei tai on back....

Re: Who doesnt use a stroller?

I mostly babywear when they're under 1, but I do love my jogging stroller. It's great for when they're a little older, when it's hot, or for carrying diaper bags and other such junk when we go to the zoo! I got one that has a front wheel that can be stationary or swivel. So nice to push! It turns on a dime.

I thought I'd want a double when I had my second kid, but never, ever needed one. So glad I didn't spend the money. We could always manage with one in a carrier and one in stroller or walking. My girls were almost three years apart. My youngest will be just over 2 1/2 when this one arrives.

You could totally do that! Think how fast you'd lose the baby weight

I have a couple nice carriers and a nice jogging stroller, but we still always carry DS. Always have. It is too much of a hassle to pull everything out and wrap or wiggle into a carrier in a parking lot or strap him into the stroller. Its not worth it for quick trips and he always ends up wanting out after about an hour out on long trips and then we're stuck out juggling a baby and an empty carrier or stroller.
I still try, mostly because of money spent, but my husband gave up ages ago.

Sent from my iPhone. Autocorrect hates me.

Before DD could walk, I used strolls constantly! I had a small one for shopping and a jogging one for daily walks. My back cannot take babywearing daily or for more than short trips. I really liked the stroller for clothes shopping so DD would be contained in the dressing room and for walks when it was hot and I couldn't imagine a hot body against me. Before DD could sit, though, one of us always wore her when we were out. She hated her car seat, and I hated the idea of always keeping her away from us in it.

ddc. We are a stroller free family. Ive never liked the aesthetics of having baby so removed from me/dh; I want baby to see faces and not knees. Dd was a tiny thing and easy to carry which certainly didn't hurt. We will wear this baby too. My dd will be 8 when the baby comes, so I don't have to worry about her. It would be much more of a challenge with an active toddler and baby.

Off topic, but can you tell me what DDC means. I tried looking on the first page of the acronyms list, but didn't see it listed. I've ran into this a few times and know i will probably kick myself after hearing what it stands for, but I can't for the life of me figure it out. Lol.

I found that it was even more of a necessity to wear the baby with an active toddler because mine tend to wander off and I have to chase them down, trying to push a stroller and wrangle a toddler is next to impossible! However I wear my babies on my back and I can do it easy peasy.

Re: Who doesnt use a stroller?

We mostly use our stroller when we go to the zoo or a big outing like Six Flags. It seems like, half the time, there are no kids in it though! My 1 year old either rides in the Beco, gets carried by me or an older sibling, or wants to walk. However, we like to take the diaper bag, snacks, water, a lunch for the zoo, etc. along and I can't imagine having to carry all that around. So actually, the stroller is mostly for carrying "stuff" rather than children!

Re: Who doesnt use a stroller?

ddc. my nephew doesn't use a stroller. He's pushing two. His mama uses a mei tai (spelling?) but he's getting heavy heavy. I hurt my back carrying him and his mama has constant back pains. I think baby wearing is great for the little ones (and maybe light not so squirmy toddlers) but this kid is just to big for it... or maybe we're just too small for him.

Re: Who doesnt use a stroller?

I love my stroller, but I don't use it very often. On any long outings my 4 year old gets really tired (mall shopping, or the zoo for instance!) and there's no way I can carry an almost-2-year-old on my back AND my daughter. And all our stuff. I think we could have gone stroller-free though, just renting/borrowing them when we need them, but I'm glad we have ours!
