I actually don't own any printed fitteds (we have a few gmd workhorses) but I totally get the appeal! My toddler would love to have a train or car diaper even if it is covered.

Not to mention, the care of an AIO is IMO greater than with PUL covers and fitteds. With a fitted you might worry about the elastic, but then its just a prefitted! You cant replace the PUL on an AIO, but its cheap to replace a few covers. AIOs can also take a really long time to dry.

Meg, mama to Joey (2/2010)!

Re: Fitted print diapers - they are so cute but...

Honestly, my kids are in fitteds all of the time and I *never* use a cover until they leave the house.

Who says you have to cover the fitted up?

Even when they were newbs, I'd give them some time in just a fitted, no cover, for breathability and air flow. I increased the period of time without covers as they grew older and weren't peeing every few minutes, until they were spending pretty much all day cover less and in fitteds.

My fitteds are absorbent enough so that nothing ever gets wet. I just change the baby when the outer part of the diaper feels a little damp to the touch.
