Re: your favorite car for many kids?

We recently went from a mazda mpv to a suburban and we love it. We feel more safe in the suburban...we hit a deer going about 65 mph and we didn't even feel it. We saw it and heard it, but it didn't jerk the vehicle around or anything. It's like a tank!

Re: your favorite car for many kids?

If you are talking about newer models I would definitely go with the Ody over Sienna. 5 LATCH positions versus 3 and all three seats in the second row have latch. I easily get three Britaxs in my second row when I have my nephew with me. I much preferred the interior of the Ody to the Sienna.

I totally agree! I guess it's the hippie in me but I would love a station wagon, they just don't make them anymore

We adore our odyssey; I totally resisted the minivan but our triplet stroller wouldn't fit in other options. It was the best bang for number of seats and MPG along with ease of use; the sliding doors are the bees knees

Re: your favorite car for many kids?

We have a '10 Ody and an '09 Pilot- both have pros and cons. Both seat 8- however I can't comfortably sit in between the carseats in the 2nd row of my Ody- my 12 year old son can though. I can sit in the 2nd row of the Pilot but my 12 year old says the middle of the 3rd row seat is not comfortable. There seems to be larger more comfortable seating in the Pilot but that sacrifices cargo room- my Ody has tons of cargo room!
Also if roads are bad we drive the Pilot- it has AWD.
For our family vehicle my van fits the bill but my husband didn't want to drive a mini-van so he got a Pilot. Ody is much more family friendly with features you will love with small children.

ETA: We had a freestyle before the Pilot and it also served our purposes well- we could fit all 5 kids in it but the Pilot is much more roomy.

I only have two kiddos now but I love our eight seater Sienna. The middle seat in the second row is wide enough for an adult to sit in it comfortably (not a magic seat) and the van has 5 LATCH positions. (three second row two rear) Mines an 09. I think When they changed the body style in '10 or '11 they did away with the "real" 8h seat and went with the skinny worthless seat like the Ody has.

Power sliding doors are a must!

Re: your favorite car for many kids?

I have a 10 Chevy Traverse and love it, seats 8 pretty comfortably and not too bad on gas either. It's wider than my dodge caravan we previously had and more comfortable for my 6'2 husband.
