Best preschool supplemental device?

Looking for website recs, or favorite learning device (leappad?), video games (can get a wii, have an xbox, are there any good 'learning' games?) etc. Just need a little something fun and educational that mom doesn't have to direct for my 4 yr old. Taking any and all ideas!

We like our v reader. I wasn't sure at first but grandmom got it for xmas and it actually has been really great. It keeps him totally entertained and he has picked up things from it as well.

Dd got a leapster explorer for Christmas. I was questioning it at first because the games didn't seem very educational to me, although they're heavily marketed that way. But as she's played it more, I can see that some games are just more obviously educational and some are more just for fun. Her favorite (and mine! ) is the "Puzzled" game. She seems drawn to the deductive reasoning games and Puzzled certainly gives her that in a fun way (as does the Train track app we got as a free download). So overall, I'd recommend it if you're lo is into gaming. They can do it independently (no reading required for instruction), it's fun, and teaches/reinforces so many different skills.
