Preemie sitting age?

Twins were born at 29 weeks, 9 months old now. Just wondering when your preemie sat unassisted?

The general rule is to use adjusted age. So born at 29 weeks is approximately 11 weeks early, taking into account twins are usually 36-38 weeks let's call 8 weeks before they would have come full term. So if they are 9 months subtract the 8 weeks (let's call it two months) and they should be at least at the developmental level of a 7 month old, if that makes any sense at all.

Being born early should have automatically qualified them for early intervention services, which are very helpful for these kinds of things.

My DS (30 weeker) could sit unassisted without fear of falling over at 8 months.

Thanks It's weird, some people say 6 months, many way 8 months and some are all the way over in 11 months!

Our NICU urged me to look at adjusted age but also to remember that micropreemies are often delayed even more. I've also read numerous times that identicals tend to be delayed further (even full termers).

Mine barely qualified as 'preemies' but my DS did not sit until over 11 months.

UPDATE: one of my girls is sitting with NO help this week! Her sister however, is not interested
