Has anyone used Hypno Babies or similar program?

I used Hypnobabies for my last birth and plan to use it again next month. I recommend doing the entire program as there are specific directions in the workbook. It's a top notch complete program that helps eliminate fear from birth and gives you several tools for you to use during your birthing time. I had a painless birth using Hypnobabies. I also wholeheartedly believed in the program and knew it would work for me. When I got to the hospital I thought I was maybe a 3 nope! I was an 8 1/2. I had an amazing waterbirth and chose an ob whom I knew would be supportive. I pushed for ten minutes and ds was out. I also had the easiest recovery compared to my twins birth. I used it but not in it's entirety and I would say it definitely made a positive difference for me. I didn't do the full self-hypnosis (I didn't feel like I needed it for much of my labor because the pain wasn't bad at all, and then after they broke my water I pretty much didn't care), but I definitely used what I had learned to help my body relax and I think that has helped my labors go quickly and smoothly. I'm planning in using it with my current pregnancy.

I used the Hypnobabies home-study for my second pregnancy and birth and it was amazing. The tracks are so great for relaxing and helping in pregnancy for sleeping and comfort. As a doula, I love hypnobaby births. The moms are generally much calmer, and less affected by the stresses of transporting to the hospital, admission procedures in L&D and less distracted by staff coming in an out of the room.
I enjoy working with hypnobaby clients because I feel that their work before the birth enables them to have a more focused experience and that in turn helps me focus my attention on them in a different way than with none-hypnobaby clients. I can't do the work of birth for my clients and sometimes it seems that some of them breeze through the pregnancy with only superficial preparation (or overkill and just not the right kind of prep) and then during intense labor I spend the majority of my energy calming them down and trying to reassure the husband/partner. I wish that I had done it myself with my own births.
