weight loss?

Hey ladies, this is a totally odd for me...granted this is only #2, but seems weird.

I'm about 7 or 7.5w along (Tuesday we'll have an official verdict) and since going in at 6w I've lost another 5lbs (basically down about 9 from 'normal')... but I'm also bloated and my jeans no longer fit more than a few hours! Though I'm nauseous I do manage to eat all 3 meals and some snacks.

I know I need to call my endocrine doc as with DS my thyroid jumpstarted and my meds might need adjusting, but I certainly did not lose weight while preggo with him!
My IBS has flared and unfortunately I suffer from boughts of diarrhea with it but I don't feel it has been enough for me to be losing weight.

anyone with similar 'issues'?

I wish! I think I gained 5lbs just getting my BFP!!!

I am due in July, but had the same thing happen. Now at 17 weeks I am still 3 pounds below where I was at my 8 week appointment (first time I started tracking) I have not had much of an appetite, but the babies are growing. Maybe you are having twins too! I just make sure that I am taking in quality calories that are good for me and the babies, and am trying not to feel bad or anxious over it.

Yep - that's me. Just trying to keep the weight gain under control. Sheesh.

But I hope you figure out what it is. Too much weight loss really IS too good to be true.

oh man, I wish! I even had a high-ish thyroid at 4-5 weeks and have still gained! jealous lol

I barely snacked this afternoon, too upset a tummy. But, we went to Chick-fli-a for dinner at the mall...I was hungry! then could only eat 2 of chicken strips before feeling yuck again...sigh.

Totally normal IME. I was even in maternity pants around 12-14w with my DS despite having lost 18lbs at that point. And with DD I was in maternity pants around 9w and had lost 5lbs as well. This time I'm down to my 'fat pants' but refuse to dig out maternity yet. I have lost around 8lbs so far.

I always lose 4 lbs in the first trimester. I think you're smart to talk to your Endo though. Often thyroid meds need tweaking during pregnancy.

thanks - despite being sick with #1 I know I gained 5lbs in the first few weeks so I was a bit worried about this weight loss.
I gave in switched to my maternity jeans...though they don't fit right yet! I guess next I'll try my regular pants with a belly band and see how that fits.
