Baby, 6 months old, is in the hospital w/ a broken femur. Parents are pointing fingers at eachother and at the gparents. Baby will be coming to us tomorrow w/ no visitation from the family.

what will the parents have to go through to get baby back?

Re: Question

If they Child Services decides that the parents are responsible then they will establish a plan with services. IF they work the plan they will get baby back. But IF there isn't any other concern, it is realistic child could go home sooner than later.

This is definitely a situation that that CPS will need to figure out if child is really being abused or not. Good luck and keep us posted.

Re: Question

Realistically not all of those people are responsible, so when they clear people, baby will probably go to whoever is cleared unless there are other safety concerns. If there are other concerns, a plan will be made and I would assume visits would start.
A SAHM to four long out of diapers (all used cloth for all or part of their diapering years) and a baby girl currently in cloth part time.

Re: Question

Some things on the list here would include: random drug screens, suitable living conditions including bed & bedding for child, job/way to support family, making all scheduled appointments with social worker/counseling/visitation for child, parenting classes. If the parent goes to doctor appointments and asks about the child's well being. Most importantly-- they will be expecting someone to admit or explain the broken bone. Here in WI- the fastest child that went home from our house was 10 months, that mom only made one mistake in the 10 months.
Love this baby as much as possible, but remind yourself s/he will most likely be going home. If s/he gets to stay with you, you will be doubly blessed. GOOD LUCK!
