Re: Love or Hate microfiber?

It's fine. I have a mixed stash of natural fiber AIOs and microfiber AIOS. I like them both the same, honestly. I use plenty of Tide and a little bit of bleach every 3rd or 4th load and don't have any stink problems.

Im a hater. I can't stand how it feels, it's hard to get clean, and it makes my babe rash if shes in it for multiple changes. But i love my bg aio's anyhow.

Re: Love or Hate microfiber?

I hate it if I have to touch them so like hate pockets with microfiber inserts the feel is just awful. However I like them fine as far as function they assorb a decent amount and I've never had stink or staining issues from it.

Hate it. It's very absorbent until it gets a little bit squished. Then all the pee comes right back out and makes a huge mess. Cotton and hemp hang onto what they've absorbed sooooooo much better.

It's also much pickier about your wash routine and diaper creams.

Re: Love or Hate microfiber?

I like it, but I also add bleach to every 3rd wash or so, so no stink problems here.

Not a fan here. I prefer natural fibers. Right now I'm using prefolds to stuff my BumGenius pockets. I'm hoping to get some bamboo and hemp inserts soon, since they are trimmer. My alvas I use the bamboo ones and they are super trim and absorbent.

Posting from my iPhone/iPad probably while breastfeeding. Please excuse mistakes.

Re: Love or Hate microfiber?

I hate it. The fabric snags my hands and gives me a nails-on-chalkboard feeling. It can compression-leak, too, which is a bad combo for someone like my toddler who needs breathable, non-PUL covers.

However, it's hard to beat for trim/squishy feeling. Bamboo fleece is very trim/absorbent, but when wet it feels hard not squishy. Of course, that makes it easy to tell if a diaper is wet LOL!

Re: Love or Hate microfiber?

i didn't have a problem with it, as far as feel or stinkies, it didn't absorb enough for us, i love cotton or hemp best and bamboo for a doubler.

Re: Love or Hate microfiber?

I've had the same experience. I almost gave up on microfiber until I tried Tide. DD's room would stink even with just a couple dirty dipes in the wet bag. Now I don't notice a smell unless I open the wet bag.

Re: Love or Hate microfiber?

For those who use bleach on their microfibers, are you just referring to inserts? I have both FB sized pockets and sized BG AIO. The BGs are the worst (I actually like the FBs) and I want to try bleach but don't want to ruin the PUL on the BGs. I am also in a hate mode with the microfiber now. I might try Tide (using Country Save now). Which tide do people use? We have a HE washer. With #2 on the way, I'm trying to gain control over the washing process so I don't lose faith. I'm just looking forward to getting back to being able to throw the whole BM poopy diaper in the wash and having non-toddler cow's milk pee (which of course I'll still have with my 1st, but at least not double)!

Thanks!
