belly support/binder after csection?

After my last csection I was given a belly binder/support belt, but this time I did not. I want to purchase one, because I think it helped with pain and squished me back together more evenly. This time, its all hanging loose and isn't looking so pretty. Anyone have recommendations for what one to get?

I bought the medela post partum support belt. Really helped with the pain.

I will be getting one next time for sure!

I will say though that I was horrified by how my stomach looked after my 2nd c-section. Horrified. Like, couldn't look at myself for a couple weeks because it was so awful. It did not heal that way at all! It looks normal now and the whole hanging stomach thing did go away.

Re: belly support/binder after csection?

I was planning to buy Bellefit to wear after DS was born, but I balked at the price. I just used the one that they gave me in the hospital and now I wish I'd sprung for the Bellefit. The hospital one was not terribly comfortable so I hardly wore it after the first week. I had a vertical incision with a c/hyst (this was my 4th c-section and I had placenta increta) and I still have a lot of flab that I didn't have with any of my other deliveries.

My sil had 5 c-sections and swears by the cheap-o Spanx knock-off high-briefs from WalMart. I used Spanx after my last birth, not a c/s, and they were AWESOME!

I have had four cs and was only offered a belly support with my last delivery and HATED it. I found that it caused me to hold on to gas as things were 'squished' tightly. My cramping and soreness was also far worse with it on than off. It took me two days to realize that it was all caused by the support wrap so off it went. I should also mention that my recoveries are pretty easy compared to many others. I walk within a few hours after and have minimal pain. I always feel for mamas who have difficult recoveries from cs.

Re: belly support/binder after csection?

I actually just bought some high waisted compression/slimming undies from target and they were a total lifesaver. I still use them to smooth down the wobblies lol! They just made me so much more comfortable buy holding my midsection steady and supporting the loose skin around my scar. Good luck!
