What do you do???
So, I feel like I would be so much more productive though out the day if I got up a showered before my husband left for work. BUT normally I have been up all night with my newborn or I am nursing him as DH is walking out the door. Then I get wrapped up in entertaining my 3 year old, breakfast, nursing again, pumping, and work...
So what do you do? Am I just being lazy-should I be getting up early to shower so that I can get more done?

Yup, I try to get up before anyone else so I have time to shower and take care of me for a bit.

Re: What do you do???
You've got a 3-year-old and a newborn. I don't think "lazy" enters into the equation at all.
Take the extra sleep. I've found I'm more productive overall if I'm even slightly better rested, and I'm less likely to get sick. I've also realized that even if I am a woman... I'm still only one person and can't do it all myself. Some days not everything gets done - but at the end of it, my daughter will remember that I spent time with her. She's not going to care that I didn't get the stairs vacuumed.

Re: What do you do???
I sleep. The only time I get up early to shower is if I have to get up and dressed to be somewhere important (and work doesn't count as important!) I plan showers at certain times of the day, like afternoons before my kids get home from school, but not first thing in the morning.

Re: What do you do???
That is not being lazy. If your DH can help with the 3 year old in the mornings, then def. ask him to. If that isn't possible, at least have him help out with some daily chores when he is home. It can be as simple as putting away the dishes or making the beds.
With both of you working, it should be a shared workload.

I have to wake up before the kids do to shower/get ready.

Re: What do you do???
To be honest I try to shower or at least wash my hair the night before. That frees up so much time for me in the morning. I like to have the kids mostly ready for school before I leave. And DH is getting ready for work as well. We only have one bathroom everyone needs to fight for.
