Re: easy diaper pattern

My favorite is the mama bird pattern, but you can also just take a diaper you like (cloth or sposie) and lay it flat on newspaper or brown paper bag, draw an outline and use that as a pattern.
Make sure to mark where elastic attaches, and then cut out 2, sew together with a space to turn it out, add elastics, then topstich the whole thing. You can add closures after that. Here is a simple tut...

or this one but you can use any wool, or any other waterproof material, and you can add velcro instead of snaps if you want. http://organicmamasquirrel.blogspot....rial-with.html

good luck! and keep us posted with pics!

Not sure what you mean. You can do as I suggested with a newborn size diaper. Both links I listed can be altered for any size.

Re: easy diaper pattern

I like the little green bear pattern (wazoodle.com, I think?) I modified mine a bit. It was a little too wide in the crotch and I was converting prefolds into fitteds.

there's a good tutorial for adding gussets (so important if you are breastfeeding, IMO) and it's not too hard, but I have a serger
http://www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/Baby/gussets.html

It took 4-5 dipes before I got it just the way I wanted. So you might use your least favorite fabrics first or try old t-shirts first. I choose to use a snappi instead of adding aplix or snaps, so I had to use a "snappiable" outer, like birdseye or t-shirt material.
