My Mood:
Having trouble eating after surgery...

Hi mamas,
I had a tubal ligation Fri and my uvula was damaged from intubation. I'm having a hard time eating and today my supply is down. I've been living on Jello, Popsicles and scrambled eggs. I have tried broth, yogurt, milkshakes and mashed potatoes but it's too painful. I need to get calories in me or I'm afraid my supply will disappear. This is my 2nd surgery in a month and my last one went much better even though this was minor and that was major. My throat was fine last time but now I'm on day 2 and it seems worse today rather than better. Any high cal supply boosters you can recommend??

Slimfast shakes? I used todrink then to gain weight (so I drank them with my regular meals). Sorry you are having such trouble!

Re: Having trouble eating after surgery...

I'm in the same boat and now have an infection and can't keep anything down even if I force it. I had domperidone on hand though so I've been taking that and it's brought my supply back though probably at,my expense, I feel so hungry and weak (I was dehydrated too, but, went back to the hospital for IV fluids which helped). Good luck mama!

What about Ensure? I've never had it, but I've seen it recommended to boost calorie intake. Sorry you're going through this mama.
