Want a cheap night solution?

I can't say this will work for everyone, but I found something for DS. He's 2 and even when he wears a sposie designated for "nights" we still get leaks on jammies. Tried pull ups and OMG --huge leaks. We have been using sandy's or toddleease stuffed with hemp and dancing bears fleece covers...while successful, the covers are pricey....so I tried...

Bummis whisper pants. You know, the $5 ones you arent supposed to dry? Yep. Those hold all night long. We've been using them for a few wks now and have had zero issues.

They are huge and fluffy but I cant say they are bulky bc they really just flatten out and dont hinder movement. I did catch DH reading the tag and I said "what are you looking at?"....him: "bum-is whisper". I said "yes, Bummis whisper pant". Him: "awful loud for a whisper pant". Yep they are kind of swishy swishy loud but they work and are cheap!!!

Funny! What did you put under it, though? And they are "well-built"?

When I looked them up, they look like the vinyl Gerber pants that do actually hold in leaks, but tear easily. (That's what my mom used on us back in the day!)

That is part of the reason why I haven't posted this already. I have this cycle of finding a night solution that works then BAM, find some kind of flaw or it leaks or wicks, or leaves red marks and then I go back to the drawing board.

SO FAR, these have given us no issues. Emphasis on SO FAR!!
I did go to the website (Bummis) and read that these cannot be dried in the dryer. Since I dry on high heat, I haven't been drying them. If I dried on low, I probably would chance it. But I don't so I don't want to risk it. KWIM?

Underneath the bummi's, this is what we do:
Toddleease or Large ME Sandy's
Cotton babies insert sock stuffed with 1 joeybunz OR 2 hemp babies doublers.
A fleece liner can be used instead of the cotton babies insert sock but I like the sock bc I think they are more stay dry.

The next best cover I've tried is the dancing bears. They really are awesome but the night weight are way better than the day weight IMO..and I never see them on FSOT anymore and no one seems to know whether the one they have for sale is DAY or NIGHT and I don't think the day weight ones are night worthy. I tried looking on etsy for them but they are about $22 plus shipping (and the WAHM who makes them is now international). The nice thing about those is they REALLY hold up over time. They are much more bulky seeming than the Bummi's though. When we put one on DS over the toddleease, he kinda does this weird "too much dipe between my legs" walk.

Re: Want a cheap night solution?

These are the best overnight cover I've ever used. I use them over pinned or snappied prefolds.

As far as being similar to the gerber pants, they are like a million times better. I started out with the gerbers (and actually used them for a long time with my first). They can crack and stain, but the Bummis are a totally different material. I've never had them rip. The Gerber pants are vinyl and the Bummies are nylon. They squish right down under clothes.
