Enlighten me on side snaps?

There seems to be many here who love side snaps. For some reason they intimidate me because I am so used to putting on sposies. So I'm about do cloth full time with my newbie due in a couple weeks. Most my nb stash is front aplix. Why would one choose to do side snaps?

with side snaps there is no droop in the front middle when a diaper is super stuffed for heavy wetters. Almost like an opening at the top of the cover, where babies belly is. I personally didn't need them with my baby. Depending on babies shape the side snaps might work good for you.

i wasn't a fan of side snaps at first. i now have small stash of grovia AIOs and i really do like them. they seemed so awkward to me, but once i gave them a chance they were really quite easy.
i think it's really a preference thing, they do have a much flatter front which looks a little better in clothes, and they work well on chubby thighed babies.

I like them because they look better under clothes.

Yep, we love them because they flat in front. And, we need a high rise. Most side snap dipes have a high rise. For some reason my DS pees up quite a bit..hmmm

Re: Enlighten me on side snaps?

I don't really have a preference between side snaps and front snaps (but I can't stand aplix!). When DS1 outgrew the small Fuzzi Bunz, and the mediums were huge on him, I started searching for a new diaper, and found BottomBumpers. They work great for us, so that is what we stuck with. They just happen to be side snap. I don't really find them to be any more difficult to put on than front snaps, after the first few times.

I like side snaps because I don't get wing droop with them. And they just look neater to me.

They tend to be super trim and fit under clothes really well. No wing droop and I think they work with a variety of body types because you can adjust the legs and waist at different places.

Yep, that. They are pretty flat under clothes. Also what PP said about them having a high rise, that's actually why I only have a couple. My DD has a short rise, so front snapping fits better under her tummy.

Re: Enlighten me on side snaps?

I've got a SS Bumstoppers fitted I'm selling on FSOT because I don't like side snapping.

You do get a trimmer look/fit but I never got over the feeling that it felt "backwards" when trying to use it.
