It's not in the acronym sticky and I've seen it several times in different threads and the entire post is "DP". Is it like bump? Or something else?

You don't have to. Some people do though

I have also seen people use DP when referring to the "dear partner" when typing a post.

I always think of dear partner but in this case it's def double post.
