Food ? for those w/ babies 10-14 months
I am trying to get an idea of what (and how much) your babies are eating through the day. Please include drinks, bottles or nursing too. More out of curiosity but also to get ideas!
Mine (times are approx): 8 am: nurse and bowl of pureed fruit with a grain or yogurt 9:30: snack of fruit (most of which he can't eat really well) at daycare with cup of water 11:30: I pack a cut up cheese (or hummus or cream cheese) sandwhich with either soft carrots or peas (don't think he eats ANY of the veg) with a cup of cows milk 12:30: bottle of bm at nap time 3:00: finishes the bottle of bm (5 oz approx) on the way home from day care 3:30: nurses more 5:00: snack of goldfish or cherios or dried fruit (the freeze dried kind) cup of soymilk (hardley drinks any) 7:00: nurse then eat bits of our dinner which hardley any get in. most goes to the dog. I end up giving a whole grain waffle (plain) to fill him up. 8:30: nurse before bed (then nurses a couple of times at night) I think he eats too much bread but if I didn't give him that I think he would nurse even more! He would eat cheese and bread type things all day but has a texture thing (squishes instead of eats anything slimy or too soft).

Re: Food ? for those w/ babies 10-14 months
Hmm...lets see:
5am - (Lord, it is early lol) wakes up, nurses and hopefully goes back to sleep 7am - breakfast, usually a banana and some dry cheerios or a piece of toast w/butter cut up small 9ish - snack, like pretzels or goldfish 11:00 - nurses, drinks some bottle, then usually a nap after nap - lunch - some sort of meat (usually leftover chicken, turkey slice, sometimes even a chopped up hot dog ) cheese cubes or crumbles, and fruit (chopped grapes, mandarin oranges, chopped apple, etc)3pm - nurses, snack, maybe part of a soft granola bar or an oatmeal cookie 5:00 - dinner (we eat early) He gets whatever we are having wether he eats it or not 7:00 - bottle (he is on 2% milk for bottles) 8:00 bedtime (sometimes we do yogurt before bed for a snack) He eats alot of dairy, a lot of fruit, I have trouble with the veggies too!

Re: Food ? for those w/ babies 10-14 months
Great thread! My son is 10 1/2 months old and here's his approximate schedule..
6 am awake and bushy tailed play until 6:45 when we nurse 10 minutes or so before I go to work On weekends...naps from 9-10:30-ish On weekdays naps at about 10-11 11 am eats a jar of baby food and some fruit/veggie puffs wagon wheels, graham crackers, whatever play play play Nurse again at 1 pm 1:30-3 nap nurse upon waking 5 pm eat dinner (a jar of baby food, some vienna sausage, steamed carrots, cut up grapes, wagon wheels, whatever I can find!) Bath at 6:30 play quietly Nurse at 7:30 Bed at ~ 8 pm Awake ~2 times at night to nurse That's our day in a nut shell! We have the opposite problem, he won't eat fruit at all and pigs out on veggies. Re: Food ? for those w/ babies 10-14 months
OMG! If he didn't weigh 25lbs, I'd think that Nathan was starving! LOL
6am - Nurse, back to sleep till 7ish 7am - Toast or Cheerios, yogurt, sippy of water 8:30am - usually a bear paw or timbit in the van taking Noah to daycare 9:30am - home to nurse 11am - lunch; usually shredded cheese and apple, some crackers or a roll and meat left over from dinner the night before. Plus a sippy of water 11:30am - Nurse for nap 11:30 to 1pm - Nurse DURING nap! lol 1pm - Nurse after nap! ![]() 2pm - Sippy of water, pudding pop (when it's hot - I make them so the babies have bigger handles!), some mandarin slices or apple 3:30pm - nurse before we go pick up Noah from daycare 4:30pm - nurse when we get BACK from picking up Noah! lol 5:30pm - Dinner - whatever we're having, just cut up smaller. Most of it ends up on the floor, but the babies seem to like trying to get food to fly further each dinnertime! 6:30pm nurse after bath 8-9pm - Nurse to TRY to get him to sleep! Still up 2 or 3 times at night to nurse As you can see, Nathan is still nursing for over half of his nutrition at 14 months. Dh jokes that he'll get off the bus from kindergarten to nurse before going out to play with his friends --- not thinking it's a joke on my end!

Re: Food ? for those w/ babies 10-14 months
mine is 16 months....
5am nursing (maybe back to sleep maybe we get up) 8AM nursing 8:30 I offer breakfast, he usually skips it though, might eat 6 dry cheerio-ish O's 10Am big nursing and a nap noon offer fruit, veg, meat, grain (he'll eat some meat most days), water after lunch he'll drink about 4oz of water 1-2 nurses and naps 3:30 eats a snack (a few veggie sticks or crackers or something) 5 dinner whatever we are having (minus dairy, soy, nuts, shellfish) he eats about 2/3 cup of whatever it is, plus another 3-6oz of water 5:30 a quick nursing top-off 7:30-8 big nursing and bed (but if someone interrupts then we repeat the big nursing at 9ish) Edited to add... still nurses a few times a night and as often as needed during the day- those are just the ones that are really consistent)

Re: Food ? for those w/ babies 10-14 months
I have NO idea what times he does anything...I just don't pay attention..it's completely on-demand with no schedule. He wakes around 6 for the day...sometimes he goes back to sleep...sometimes he's back to sleep in about hour for a nap...and he has 2-3 naps during the day...sometimes 20 min..sometimes 3 hrs (love those naps!)..and he goes to bed around 7:30-10:30. He eats pretty much any time his 2yo brother eats..and whatever his 2yo bro is eating. He eats every meal with us and he eats whatever we're eating. If something we're eating is incompatible (which, I haven't encountered that yet) then I'll make something additional that works for him..usually an extra veggie. He gets a bottle whenever he wants it. I give him mostly formula, but some water on occasion. Neither of my boys can tolerate most fruits. They can do bananas and apples and melons..but no juices...hence the water. He also still gets up fairly frequently at night and gets a bottle. Oh...and he's not yet 10 mo...he'll be 10mo on the 22nd of June. He's not super chunky, but he's not tiny either. He's growing well

Re: Food ? for those w/ babies 10-14 months
Quote:
I plan to nurse until Gracie says "Mom, I'm gonna miss the bus...how many times do I have to tell you that I'm getting too old for this!!" Gracie is 10.5 months old and her food schedule goes something like this: Up around 5:30- nurses until it's time to get the other kiddies up for school 6:30 - piece of toast with jam/dry cereal/something of that sort, more to occupy her while I make breakfast for the other kids 8:30 -home from the bus stop, baby cereal, minigo yogurt or boiled egg yolk (whites for mommy) 8:45 -10:30 -nurses to sleep and for duration of her nap 10:30- snack (animal crackers, grated cheese and apples, madarin oranges, bananas, soft fruit, that kind of thing) Noon - vegetable (whatever's in the freezer or the cupboard) we use both homemade and commercial baby food 12:30 - nurses to sleep and for duration of her nap 2:30 - snack with the kiddies after school (same kind of snack stuff as am snack) 4:30 - baby food (meat/veggie combos, I love the Mom's Recipe from Heinz..or that kind of meal) 5:30 - some of what we're having, cut up small...except the meat. Again, this is more to occupy her while I eat then to nourish her. 6:30 - Nurses for a half hour mini snooze 8 - nurses to sleep and most of the night..she always seems to be sucking while she's asleep. She also has juice (apple/pear/orange) with her snacks, but she really just plays with it more than she drinks it. She also comes up to nurse at times other than listed..she pops up on my lap here and there and "takes a swig" all day. |
