Re: Easy ways to make a lot of formula at once?
My husband mixed my son's formula. He needed simply thick and formula in it and it was hard to get it mixed evenly, so he used an electric mixer. Now that he is off the simply thick it is much easier but he is now 2 1/2.

Re: Easy ways to make a lot of formula at once?
I always just used my regular old rubbermaid pitcher, and a wire wisk.

Re: Easy ways to make a lot of formula at once?
I always found our method super simple. We had about 10 bottles or so and we filled them all up with water to the appropriate ounce line. Then when we needed a bottle, all we had to do was scoop the formula in or get out the formula dispenser. Took 5 seconds. We gave her the bottles room temp from day one so we never had to worry about warming them, either, so it made it a pretty easy, seamless routine.

Re: Easy ways to make a lot of formula at once?
We used the liquid concentrate formula so no 'mixing' is required. I just filled his bottles/cups halfway with the concentrate, then the rest of the way up with water. We did 6-8 bottles every morning so the fridge was always stocked.

Re: Easy ways to make a lot of formula at once?
Please forgive my ignorance - but I thought you couldn't premix formula? That it had to be thrown out an hour or so after mixing? Enlighten me!

Quote:
Catbutt - you can make a day's worth of formula at once as long as it's refrigerated. If you put it in a bottle and the baby drinks from it, you're not supposed to keep it for more than an hour because the saliva that gets into the bottle starts breaking down the milk before your baby drinks it.

Re: Easy ways to make a lot of formula at once?
Ahh OK. I was dreading the 3AM stumble to the kitchen to measure out and mix a bottle - having premade ones will take SOOOOOO much stress away! Thanks!

Re: Easy ways to make a lot of formula at once?
If your baby will take it room temperature, just set it up with the water in the bottle and the powder next to it in the baby's sleeping area. Our baby sleeps next to me and I don't even get out of bed - just reach over, mix, and feed!

He will only take it cold but it needs to be mixed with warm to hot water or you'll still be shaking it 30 min later
He's on Neocate Jr so it's not as easy of a mix as regular infant formulas. I'm going to check out the Dr Browns pitcher. Anything to help is welcome. Thank you! -mom to 3 big girls (9, 12 & 18 ) & 1 little guy (26 months)

Love the idea about the Pampered Chef mixer pitcher! Might have to try that.
