I think my ducks are boys! Anyone have recipes for Duck?

We hatched out six ducks last fall because I wanted egg layers. We sexed the babies when they were "born" and figured we have six babies, five were one gender, one was the other. We were pretty sure it was 5 girls, but decided to raise them all just in case. We have started getting eggs, just one each day. And five of the ducks look the same (white with a curl in their tail). The other one has no curl is a little smaller (I think) and MUCH louder. Any one know how to tell on an all white adult duck which one one is the girl? They are a cross of golden 500 layers and the white layers from the same hatchery. I was given the eggs by a friend who has both breeds.

ETA: Looks like we're going to be eating them since they are boys and we won't be getting eggs. Anyone know how to cook duck so it actually tastes good?

Only male ducks get curly tails, and are very quiet. Females are much louder. I think you are correct. You have 5 boys and 1 girl. Sorry!

We love duck here, although it is very greasy and fatty. Peking duck is our favorite.

I hear duck fat is very healthy and tastey. Our ducks were our friends so we couldn't eat them (or any duck) but there are a lot of chinese recipes for duck. Sorry, mama. We liked our male ducks because they were so quiet and nice (a couple were agressive and we rehomed them).

If we had a pond or more room we would keep them. But we only have one acre, and purposely got a breed that didn't need water. But we really only have room for a couple and we really want eggs.

Well I don't eat duck - or any meat - so I'm no help... But the title of your thread absolutely cracks me up!

Also - I used to work at a co-op and there were ALWAYS chefs/caterers who were looking for natural/organic duck for people who wanted it. Maybe if you don't want them someone else would?

Your title made me laugh. We had the same feeling about our rooster, but we have kept him (for now). I have eaten duck and it is not bad. It is greasier than chicken, but we just roasted it and it was good. Definitely "gamey-er" IYKWIM.
