Re: SAHM forum?

whether it is meant to be or not, the whole site pretty much leans towards sahms. I can not imagine what other forum could be added that would address any topics that can not be addressed in another forum. Where as the working moms have issues that are not addressed in other forums. There are carry overs, as we are all(well most anyways)women with children, but a sahm does not need a place to vent about her boss, work hours, nursing in a bathroom stall, etc.
When there was not a working mom's forum many would get bashed(or they felt like they were being bashed) about working when they would bring up their concerns in other forums.

But a SAHM (imo) does need a place to vent. We don't just sit around all day like some people think we do. I was interested in a finding a cleaning schedule and was looking for somewhere to post to find opinions on what worked for other SAHMs. I have no problem with there being a WAHM forum, but to say the whole site leans towards SAHMs is some what ridiculous. Every other parenting board I am a member of has a SAHM section, so I don't really understand why this site wouldn't have one.

Um.. quite literally everything she said. I feel as though I'm being exclusive and somewhat rude to always say at the beginning of a post, "For other SAHMs, how do you...?" But what a wohm does rarely applies to my situation when it comes to homekeeping.

I think its fair to say this whole board leans toward moms. But there is a moms of many board. And an entire parenting board.

I'd say the whole board lean towards the crunchy. But there is a green families board.

I have to agree with this. I also feel weirdly exclusionary starting a post directed to SAHMS. It would be nice to have a forum where I wouldn't have to worry about that. And a forum to find ideas for routines, and ideas for kid activities and cleaning tips all in one place would be cool too.

Re: SAHM forum?

I think that a sham forum would be a great idea!

But there are forums for you to ask those questions, and you would not need to specify just sahms. I would think that most of the questions it would be implied by the way you asked. Not every one has input to give on every single post, and of a working mom came across a post that did not apply to her, she just would not chime in.
I never said us sahms do not need a place to vent. We do it all over the forums. If it does not fit neatly into one of the categories, there is off topic.
Just my opinion though.
