Anyone planning your diapers for next baby?

I did not cd from birth last time and I used mainly prefolds, so I am having to get newbie diapers plus double my stash to cover 2 in cloth under 2. So this is my action plan to do it as cheap as possible, please share your plans as well.

I plan to use these for newborn and small and then go direct into OS

I hope to do some trades for the items I still need or find some good fsot deals and have my mom bring them

Pockets (24)
19 Alva newborn pockets (fits to 12 lb) (buying in coop for under 60.00)
4 kawaii bamboo green baby pockets (fits to 20 lbs) (bought in coop 20)
1 Thirsties duo pocket size 1 (have from DS)

Fitteds(12)
5 thirsties size 1 (already have got all 3 for 15)
2 newborn blue dog no name (have from ds like 3.00 each)
6 GMD work horse fitteds - need to stalk fsot

Prefolds (1 dozen in each size back up and melaconin)
1 dozen preemie - stalk fsot
1 dozen newborn - stalk fsot
1 dozen small prefolds (have from ds)

Covers:
4 thirsties duo size 1 (have 2 from ds stalking for 2 more)
4 thirsties xs and 4 smalls (have from ds seconds)
2 fleece soakers nb (have from fsot 10.00)
6 fold down cord snap covers - stalk fsot

Then once baby enters OS I plan to use alvas and get those cheap in coop
I plan to pick up 2 dozen solids and 40 bamboo inserts

I already have fitteds for night time, wipes, covers, and all that jazz.

Other then that I think I am covered for diapers, unless I find out it is a girl and decide to splurge on a few girlie diapers. May grab a few more trainers from bububibi for ds in coop and may pick up a few coop wool soakers to try for nighttime with the kids, but otherwise, think I am covered.

And pretty confident I can do it all for under 150 bucks, less if I get trades

Now I just need to find a storage solution, off to start another thread

Re: Anyone planning your diapers for next baby?

I don't remember off hand how many newbie diapers I have since a friend is borrowing them right now. I do know that I have some bum genius XS AIOs, thirsties XS AIOs, and some XS fuzzibunz. I have to pick up a few more since I sold the other newborn diapers I had that I wasn't crazy about. I'd like to try some lil joeys and maybe a NB grovia AIO.

If you can't already tell AIO diapers are my preference. I will also need to pick up a couple more BG elementals since mine are showing LOTS of wear and tear after being used on two kids. I'd like to get some now but I'm hoping dd might PL soon.

Osocozy has seconds on the prefolds often http://www.clothdiaper.com/PRODUCTS/Factory-Seconds_2

I got 2 dozen infant for 30 ppd. I'll be back to share mine, but DD is jumping in my lap ATM

Re: Anyone planning your diapers for next baby?

Thanks I will watch. I am also hoping for some coops on ds for prefolds.

I would love to get some in bigger sizes those ones made special for trifolding as well.

I think alvas will always be coop as fsot just cannot touch the price. I get solids for 2.50 each and inserts for 1.20. So I should be able to get the full 2 dozen pockets and inserts for around 80. Then scour coops and fsot or trades for the other items.

I have idea were to start honestly. I need something super easy for my SO , so he doesn't get discouraged. He will be the primary caretaker while I'm at work(he works overnights).

Re: Anyone planning your diapers for next baby?

I would do all in ones or aplix prestuffed pockets.

My dh will only touch things that have been preassembled and look and act like a disposable.

Re: Anyone planning your diapers for next baby?

For DD2, I had some great newborn fiiteds that I got used from a diaper service. They were about $20 for 10, and I absolutely loved them, but I sold them once she grew out of them. Now I am stalking their site to see if they put any more up. I loved Woollybottoms soakers too, but now I can sew, so I think I will just make a bunch of my own, and also a bunch of recycled longies. If I can't get the cheap fitteds, I will probably just use the flats and prefolds that I have. I loved flats from about 4-18mos, I just haven't tried them on a newbie.
