Just wondering does anyone have a vehicle/camper/other stocked in case it is needed?

Re: Does this forum include disaster preparedness?

We have just started our bug-out bag prepping...so far, we have water purifying tablets and two filter bottles (just carbon filters, but it's at least *something*), mylar blankets, rope, hooks, pins, and a tarp for tent making, a few firearms thrown in there with a ton of ammo, two boxes of meal-replacement bars, two knives, a bag of dog food (so we can go a few days without having to share our food with the dog, if it comes to that sort of situation), a cast iron pan and some canned stews and hash, and a fire starting kit consisting of matches, lighter, ronsonol lighter fluid, fire steel and striker, and an ammo can completely packed full of dryer lint and christmas tree needles. That stuff makes the BEST tinder, I tell you.

Coming in the mail this week are 8 courses of antibiotics (mostly -cillin but also a course of keflex and one of doxycycline), a tube of bactroban (for infected wounds), and a tube of EMLA cream (topical anesthetic, to help numb the tissue if someone needs stitches or something like that). I'm so excited about those!

How did you get this? Did your doc have to write you a script?

No, but I would love it. I do keep emergency kit in the car though. A gallon of water, some protein bars, first aid kit, etc.

Re: Does this forum include disaster preparedness?

I have been putting dryer lint and pine needles inside of empty toilet paper tubes, I haven't tried them yet but I'm anxious to try them out.
