Has it been on the soles of your feet and the palms of your hands? That's a good indication that you should mention it. Just be prepared for them to tell you its normal.

If you decide to push for testing, know that is takes about 5 days to come back, if they even order the right test. Check out www.itchymoms.com for info. There should even be a letter you can print out to give your doctor.

Good luck! I hope you feel better!

You're not crazy. Being that itchy isn't normal, even if it isn't cholestasis. My last test results were within normal levels and I'm still itchy, just not horribly so. But I'm also on medication to help lower my levels and control the itch. I still have cholestasis... It's just managed and my OB knows going to term is not an option I'm willing to risk.

If they're not willing to treat you, all you can do now is take Milk Thistle, drink tons of water, eat a low fat diet, and hope to go into labor.

Or, you can pitch a royal fit in your OB's office and tell them you're not leaving without a script for Urso (Actigall) and an induction date of ASAP. You are well past 37 weeks. Yell, cry, stomp your feet, knock stuff over, make a scene. Having your DH on hand to tell the OB "I'm not taking this crazy itchy woman home with me so you may as well induce her" would also be helpful.
Like.

Re: severe itching

Well, the itching has gotten better. I barely scratched all day yesterday and I actually slept good last night. I thought it was gone for good! Until today...lol the itch is back with a vengeance. They are going to induce next Tuesday. My ob said she didn't want to induce before 39 weeks which is fine. That's not much longer! I am worried though because my body is not ready and I don't want a csection

Go in and ask for a blood test. This sounds like what I had when I had my last baby. It could be Cholestasis of Pregnancy. I was induced at 37 wks due to this condition.

I went to the hospital today (doctor suggested I go) and cholestasis it is. They want to induce me between 37-38 weeks. Possibly earlier if my blood tests come out being really abnormal

I had this, I was induced at 37 weeks. Are they offering you a vitamin K shot?
