Re: Weekly chat March 12th

Had to break down and turn on the A/C today, it's only the middle of March!! ugh
I cannot handle heat when I'm pregnant, if I had planned this pregnancy I certainly wouldn't have attempted to get pregnant where I would be at my biggest during the hottest time of the year in one of the hottest parts of the country. I get dizzy, light-headed and generally feel horrible if I get overheated when I'm pregnant, when I'm not it's no big deal.
If this is a glimpse of what Atlanta is going to be like this summer I am in so much trouble.

Basically stayed in bed most of the weekend, between the heat and my little one being sick we just snuggled and watched movies. My older ones played outside and were so good, I had to make their favorite dinner for them for being so agreeable all weekend.

Re: Weekly chat March 12th

Hi everyone. I have been MIA! We started our local Just Between Friends sale this weekend. I have spent a lot of time there already!! PHEW! I am tired! But I really do love helping with it! I was there on Thursday (10-830- i think) and on Friday from like 4-1030 and then on Sat from 8a-at least 10p!!

I am the Recall specialist and I love that my job means keeping kids a little bit safer.

And yesterday we got to shop so that was fun!! I bought a black ERGO for 15 and an infant insert for 17 new! I also got some diapers...... A Goodmama The One (really ugly design!! The Dragon - sort of a tatoo biker skull flames pattern) for $5 though so I can live with the ugliness for a chance to try it out! And then after I try it I might sell it on here lol. Unless I love it then I will just live with the look. lol

I also got 2 chinese prefolds with green edges that have been dyed light blue and have a rubber ducky fabric added to the centers. and 5 super snap bummis wraps in NB for $1 each!! And 4 like new bumgenius with inserts and one little booster insert for $15!

I also got a bunch of cute maternity clothes! including a swim suit yay and a cute denim dress and some shorts and pants that cuff into capris!

Now I just have got to get some more stuff tagged so I feel like I can buy stuff on half price day! LOL

. I hear you on the heat. It's going to be 83+ this week. We went swimming Saturday! It was a little cool, but the water felt amazing. I am pretty much planning to live in the pool this summer!

For a girl I'm still stumped. I've always loved the name Charlotte and we were going to use that for our last baby but changed it at the last minute to Elizabeth. I still really like Charlotte but it's just becoming so common that I'm not sure I want to go with it anymore.
I also have added Ana to the list. With just one "n" for the Spanish version because I am 1/2 Cuban and because I think it would be harder for someone to shorten it to Ann if there is only one "n".
We've changed our middle name to Kathleen for my MIL, we aren't going to tell her though until after the baby is born and everyone hears what name we've chosen.

So Ana Kathleen or Charlotte Kathleen??
I love the name Grayson, too! For your girl's name I vote for Ana Kathleen!

so much 'baby name' talk!!! i love it
there are days where i obsess over baby names and then sometimes i'll go weeks without really worrying about it. i guess that's where i'm at right now...probably because i just have a week and a half before we find out what we are having. that will make it 50% easier.

we prefer shorter names. the boy names we like are: holden (my fav!), colin, and dylan (probably either of these with the middle name lane). and girl names have us stumped. dh LOVES brooke...i think it's just ok. he has liked it through 2 kids so maybe i will let hm have it? i am in LOVE with the name sunny! i have loved it since our 1st baby but now that i know this is probably it for us...i desperately want to use that name if this little one is a girl, which i think it isn't. but, can you even imagine how cute little sunny brooke would be running around the house in a cloth diaper???!!! how can u not be a happy person with that name? dh says he likes it but he can't picture a grown woman with that name.
I like Sunny and I like Brook, but I they sort of remind me of a retirement home when they are together However, the thought of her running around the house in her diaper is such a cute vision!

Ugh, I so need shorts! I'm afraid to go into Motherhood, I always spend so much!

I'm the exact opposite; I'm always freezing now! Am I the only one?!

If we have a boy, DH initially wanted to name him after him (which would make him a third), but luckily I've talked him out of that. I think having a third is super cute, but I really dislike DH's name (A LOT!). I'm thankful We were able to come to an understanding about that :-)

Re: Weekly chat March 12th

Dawn!!!! I need to come up with some sort of bribe to get you to knit someing for me!!! Those longies w/ hat are flipping amazing. Are those picky pants? Do you have a pattern rec for a fitted pant leg longie? I actually don't care for the wide leg patterns on a baby....

Gotta finish sewing so I can get knitting. I have 12 mama cloth done, 6 to go. 8 diapers done, about 12 to go. Need to make receiving blankets and some bibs, and a sleep sack. Sheesh!!! And a dress for dd... hopefully I can make a matching one for this baby- SO WANT A GIRL!!!! I have several pieces of linen and am planning to make rec blankets from it. Won't linen make a super blanket for a hot summer baby??? I think so.

Gee, my goal was to be done sewing by April 1. Better stop posting and sew my bum off this week.

Re: Weekly chat March 12th

I just tried on my maternity clothes!!! I LOVE THEM!!!! EVERYTHING!!! So happy! Best money I have ever spent on clothing! WOOT! I got 3 bras, 6 shirts, a dress, a skirt, 2 shorts, 2 pairs of pants (that button up into capris), a pair of capris.

And I looked up one of the bras out of curiosity because I wasn't familiar with the brand and the thing sells for $68 new!! I paid $8!! And it looks brand spanking new!!! I am feeling really blessed tonight.

The coolest thing of all is that for my birthday I was given a total of $105 cash for whatever from my hubby and an aunt. Guess what my total was for the maternity clothes..... 103.68!!! LOL! LOVE IT!! I didn't even realize it till about 20 minutes ago because I paid for everything (me and kids stuff) at the same time!!

Re: Weekly chat March 12th

we are having a hard time for a name too..... I like nicknames. Total opposite of Andrea! So that is key to me. We have a Christopher Lewis who is always Chris and this one will be ___________ James..... and be called _____ LOL. I like the name Timothy but I do not (NOT) like Timothy Haley don't like the matchy matchy long e sounds..... so pretty much any long name that ends in long e is out. I do have a Lizzie so I can obviously handle a nickname with a long e. just not the formal name. lol.

I think I am looking at 3 or 4 syllables too..... lol And as a school teacher I am all about phonetically correct spellings!!
