Book Rec's
Does anyone have any good books they could recommend for natural child birth and/or breast feeding?
This will be my first birth and while it's exciting I'm of course nervous and would like to have all my bases covered! ![]() Thank you!

Anything written by Ina May Gaskin. I think she has 3 books out, 2 on birth, one on breastfeeding. She could have more, but those are the only ones I know about. Her birth books are great cause not only does she explain different technics and stuff and why they are important and work, she also has lots of birth stories in the books. It's great to be able to read so many other accounts of women birthing naturally. It normalizes it and makes it easier to picture yourself doing the same.

I also liked the LLL's Womanly Art of Breastfeeding, The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth, and Birthing the Bradley Way (though I didn't use their techniques).

Ina May's Guide to Childbirth
Spiritual Midwifery Better Birth : The ultimate guide to childbirth from home births to hospitals Birthing from Within The Doula Book (if you're considering one) The Birth Partner (this one for SURE - it's like my pregnancy bible. It covers absolutely all the bases for mama and dad and/or birth parter)

Re: Book Rec's
I too like Ina May's Guide to Childbirth.
Also Liked Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way - by Susan McCutcheon I really liked Hypnobirthing. It came with a relaxation/visualization CD that I listen to every night while I fall asleep. It was super helpful in my last birth. My DH turned in on in the hospital and I was able to quickly and easily relax and focus. I highly recommend it! It was a very interesting book to read and had so many helpful ideas! For breast feeding, I liked the Womanly Art of Breastfeeding.

Thank you to everyone who responded. I'm going to cruise Amazon for some of these books.
