Newborn with Super Peeing Powers!

I thought my last kid could pee a lot, but OH MY GOODNESS! This newbie is peeing like crazy. I currently am using a flat (mini kite fold or origami fold) with a preemie prefold as a doubler. Extremely bulky for an 11 lb 7 week old baby. When I change him after 1.5 hours all of it is completely soaked. I am astounded by his peeing powers.
I know plenty of people use this combo, but on such a small baby it is just ridiculous. SO much bulk between the legs. So, even though this is not in the budget, I was thinking about using a doubler in place of the prefold. Is there anything that can absorb that much but be more trim? Any advice?
Save the sadly bulky baby!

Alva bamboo inserts. They are sooo trim! According to my very unscientific test, they can hold 5 oz sopping wet.
