Re: If you got you SON circumcised how..
I don't think too many docs around here do them but my ds that had this procedure instead of gomco had the best results. By the time the plastic thingy fell off he was pretty much healed and the gauze didn't stick to him.

Re: If you got you SON circumcised how..
We cut up an old tshirt, put vaseline on his penis, then covered it with a tiny square of tshirt, then closed the cloth diaper. When we changed him again, we threw away the old cut up tshirt square, and repeated.

Re: If you got you SON circumcised how..
The doctors in our area don't recommend Vaseline for the ointment anymore. For our 2nd they highly recommended bacitracin ointment (you can get over the counter). We used sposies for the first few weeks not only because of the circ but also cause the sticky meconium poop
. They also only put a dressing on the 1st day and said once it comes off on it's own to not put another on. Our doctor also recommended no cloth diapers while it's healing, he said sposies are much easier while it's healing and he has seen infections from not-thoroughly washed cloth diapers (I took this statement lightly btw, but sposies did seem easier to deal with when we were putting goop on his front part and back parts) Hope this helps!

We used Aquafor and some gauze. If this one is a boy, they don't circ at the hospital any more so it'll be a few weeks before we get it done. I'm using cloth from the start this time and will probably steal the idea of cutting up an old shirt to keep the Aquafor off the dipes.
