WOOL COVER CARE?

I got my first wool cover to try. How do I wash it? Can I hand wash it with a natural soap or shampoo? I've seen some posts about lanolin wash stuff, but is it really necessary?

You can just hand wash it in tepid water with a small squirt of baby shampoo. Then you would rinse, and use lanolin (dissolved in hot water, and then stirred into sinkful of tepid water) to relanolize it.

yes baby shampoo works. I use wool wash, which is made specifically for covers. Put in lukewarm water, then lay flat to dry. don't wring the wool.

Lanolin is what makes the cover waterproof so it is necessary. Although I do not use a specific wool wash, just baby wash for washing and then lanisoh for lanolizing.
