Just pulled diapers out of the wash and...*pics added*

they all have orange stains all over them? And they are linear stains, like it rubbed against something and made a straight line. I wash my covers and inserts separately, and I noticed it on the inserts first but I thought it was just poop stains because my daughter had pooped after I put the covers in the wash, so I just threw the poopy diaper/insert into the wash with the inserts. I didn't notice it on the covers until I was stuffing (I have pockets) and it's even on the outside of them. There was not a poopy diaper in with the covers because she only poops every 3-4 days, and hadn't pooped since I last did the wash so they're not EBF stains. I washed a load of her clothes after I washed the inserts and they do not have anything on them so I don't think it is the washer.

Any ideas? I've only been cd'ing for 2 weeks now...I wash in bumgenius detergent. I do a cold rinse, hot wash, then 2 cold rinses. I have a top loader.

I also sunned the inserts all afternoon and the stains didn't fade at all.

Could it be rust from your washer or dryer?

That's what I thought originally, which just made me sick to my stomach because dd's brand new clothes we bought yesterday were in the dryer. But I just got them out and they don't have anything on them, and a lot of them are white or light pink, so it would definitely show up. And it definitely couldn't be my dryer because I didn't dry the inserts or covers, they were hung to dry. I noticed the inserts had orange on them when I pulled them out of the wash, but didn't notice the covers until I was stuffing them.

Not any red, I have a few pink but I bought them used and I've washed them a few times already with no problem. All I can think of is that I just got a mac n cheese elite off fsot yesterday and washed it with them...but it was used and I'm sure washed a few times...and my husband says it doesn't look like a color bleed stain. I'll post a few pics and see if that helps. I'm just scared to wash them again. The worst stains are on the outside of my new white Softbums Omni

I would try maybe a cold wash again. Hot may set the stains...maybe there's still hope!

The inside of a Swaddlebees, this is just a back up diaper so I'm not too upset about it.

Picture of one of the inserts that shows how the stains are like lines

And the outside of my new white omni

I am guessing you didn't her clothes on a hot wash? If you have hard water, it usually had a lot of iron in it. I used to have a TL and if I ever washed on hot, it would put stains on everything that looked exactly like that.We have really hard water. Do you have a FL or a TL?

We have a TL. We have hard water but have a water softener. I wash the covers on warm and the inserts on hot. Were you able to get rid of the stains?

that looks like iron or rust in the water lines... i never got it out when it happened to my clothes in the college dorm laundry room, but it won't effect function.
