I had mysterious orange stains on most of my diapers. They came out with one day of sunning, Thankfully, but they looked just like yours.

Yeah I'm hoping it's just some weird one time thing. It's just weird that it's not on anything else I washed before or after I washed the diapers. I was somewhat hoping it was my washer because I'm dying for a new washer

This happened to us, too. The neighbors were doing a huge re-do of their pipes, the yard was all dug up & occationally we'd get this horrible water that was exactly that color (the same color as the dirt in their yard). We've had it happen, too when firefighters let the hydrants run & really when anything is done with the water line. Unfortunately, I never found a way to save whites after that.

I wonder if RLR would help? It's made to remove minerals. I agree that it looks like rust. I had a Mac & Cheese FB and don't think it could've made that color. But maybe if the precious owner didn't wash in hot??

Perhaps there is something in the bumgenius detergent that makes the iron in the water settle onto the diapers? I know bleach can do that, though there isn't bleach in that detergent that I know of, but maybe other substances do the same. Or maybe there was just a sudden increase in the iron when you happened to be washing your diapers. You know, how suddenly the tap water is orange, then you let it run and it goes back clear. Or maybe washing in hot/warm/cold can make a difference? Definitely does look like iron stains, though.

Sorry you're having troubles. Just wanted to let you know that I got both of the elites in a trade, washed them both (cold rinse, hot wash, extra hot rinse with Tide F&G). My son never wore the Mac and Cheese, so I only washed it once (I'm sure the previous owner washed it many times... it certainly wasn't new). Did you ever figure out what it was that made your dipes yellow?
