Harness safety question

Last month ds threw up in his infant seat. I disassembled it and washed the fabric and straps in the washer with cold water and charlies soap. I lined dried. Ds is now in a convertible but I was planning on using his infant seat for the lo otw.

I have since learned you arent suppose to wash the straps. Is it safe? Do I need to get a new infant seat? Can you get replacement straps? I have a chicco keyfit 30.

TIA

You can call Chicco and order new straps. I would call, tell them exactly how you washed it, and see what they say. Supposedly they have great customer service.

Definitely call the company, you can order new straps depending on what they say. I'm betting they'll say replace the straps though.

Re: Harness safety question

As a rule straps are not supposed to be submerged in water. Call and see if they can replace.

Yes, you probably need new straps. Call them and see what they say, and see if you can order from them.
