you can find those nicer brands at kids resale shops. I buy a lot of gymbo and gap for my girls who all have long torsos but I dont buy new or full price. Since I have three wearing the same clothes, it makes sense for us. you could also try sewing simple play dresses or long tops....if you dont know how to sew, might be worth it for the clothes issue

We also have time problem and do a lot of dresses as tops with leggings. You could even do pillow case dresses into top with a long sleeve shirt underneath with leggings, that works well for us!

My daughter has a long torso as well. We use boy pants (actually I prefer the gender neutral beach pants from Hanna Anderson but they are $18 at the outlet) that have a longer rise (just about always!) and limp along with the tops she is given. Of course we wear dresses as tops too. But we wear dresses and leggings as often as possible.

Dresses and leggings here! I was looking in my 4yos closet and despairing that none of her dresses are long enough to wear without leggings anymore. And she can wear TINY pants as capris.
