My little pp pee-pee tip.

OK, something no one may tell you, or you might forget. DO NOT WIPE YOUR BOTTOM AFTER USING THE TOILET!!!

Even if you didn't tear. Use that darn peri-bottle. It's annoying and a tad messy, yes. But your bottom will heal so much faster if you don't wipe, even with the softest toilet paper or velour cloth wipes. Use the peri-bottle with warm water then drip dry before pulling up your undies, or GENTLY pat dry with a velour cloth wipe. KateDanzer here on ds makes ROCKIN' velour wipes .

Anyhoo, I know my mw told me to use the peri-bottle, but it seemed easier just to wipe, and I figured it'd be ok after the first couple days.... So when they say use the bottle, they mean it!

Re: My little pp pee-pee tip.

I usually pat dry with toilet paper just cause I'm too impatient to sit on the toilet till it's dry. Is that okay, or is TP all together a no-go ?

I guess it depends on how sensitive you are?

Nice PSA. Most people fail to mention such things to a new mom.

I use the peri bottle and then I gently pat dry.

But another tip, use warmer water than you think you should. As it is coming out to the bottle, it cools and feels cold if it isn't warm enough.

I never had issues with the #2 area with either kids. Didn't really even need the peri with my 2nd because (amazingly) I felt fine down there.

peri bottles are great!

I also loved earth mama new mama bottom spray...esp. helpful with hemorrhoids, and tears. I spray a little on a cotton ball, and leave it there. Very cooling and healing

Re: My little pp pee-pee tip.

I only used the peri-bottle after DD #1 because I tore horribly in 4 different spots the needed stitches.
With 2-4, I used the peri bottle to wash off my nipples with vinegar and TTO to aviod thrush!
My sister stole one of my peri bottles for nose washes!

This is true some times with the water temp though there was a few days I did cold on purpose. It was burning so bad down there it felt sooo good. It was probably room temp maybe a tad cooler not cold. I used tucks pads for same reason. I needed stitches though.
