I would do preemie or newborn prefolds with tiny covers like Rumparooz, Proraps, or Bummis Super Whisper wraps. For a couple easy changes I would get some Nana's Bottoms Aios. She makes a preemie diaper but I found her newborn fit my 4lb 9oz preemie just fine. Nana's Bottoms often carries a discount code if you look around her page.

Nana's Bottoms - http://hyenacart.com/stores/nanasbottoms/
Prefolds - I think the cheapest but good ones are here - http://www.nickisdiapers.com/

For covers I'd look on the FSOT section here, the used section on Nickisdiapers page and Hyenacart.com/spotscorner.

Hope that helps. I cloth diapered one preemie if you have any more questions, just ask!

I have been working on it, and I think I have over-bought already! I have just been putting them in the closet when I get them in the mail. I am really going to have to take an inventory of what I have

Re: Who is working on their newborn diaper stash?

when I finish the dipes I have cut out I will have (my babes tend to be 8 pounds)

6 small DD NB free
18 larger DD NB free
1 QSFW (small)
10 flats (flour sack towels)
2 flannel recieving blankets (they were DS5 and he was too long for them so they are like new)

wool: 2 sheepy sacks, 1 pair of NB longies, 2 soakers
fleece: 3 NB soakers, 1 pair of pants
1 xs thirsties cover

I need to do at least 4 more NB fitteds, and a few more PUL covers to wear under "regular" clothes for going out. I will probably knit one pair of girly longies (the ones I have are GN).

then I'm going to start on the small stash....because I have big babies....and I don't want to be sewing to catch up when I will be bleary eyed and trying to survive the holidays!

Of course I can use the flats, and I have 3 flip covers (GN)

That sounds awesome Michelle! I'm always in such awe of you ladies that make your stashes!

I think I've finished Brother's newborn stash. Now to work on the small stash.
Newborn -
8 Newborn Little Boppers Fitteds
2 Preemie/Nb Cuddlebuns (from dd's stash)
10 Newborn/Small Alva pockets (my actual plan is to trifold prefolds inside and use these more like covers, but I have the inserts they came with so they can be pockets)
12 Preemie prefolds
18 Newborn prefolds
2 wool shorties, 2 wool longies
2 PUL covers

Small so far -
12 yellow edge prefolds
6 BG fitteds

IF I were having twins, I would totally go the pf/cover route and then maybe fitteds or pockets/aios for nighttime? I've heard little joeys should actually be described as 4-10 lb dipes...hth!

Thank you ladies for the great info. I plan on bringing it with me when I sit down to start ordering. I have a friend that is like a CD guru and is going to show me the ropes. Also, another friend, has found a book full of patterns to make different types of CD's and the three of us plan to have a CD making party. It will be new to us all, not the sewing part at least, but between the 3 of us we should hopefully create at least one usuable CD. Thanks again ladies for the info. I need all the help I can get!

I'm still gathering a few things here and there but honestly I have plenty at this point.

I started a blog to highlight the journey this time since it's our last. I'll have to post it when I get to my mac.
