Re: If you could quit, would you?

HE\\ YES I WOULD!!

I have been struggling all year with wanting to leave my job. I would probably want a little something to get me out of the house 1 or 2 days a week for a few hours, though.

Re: If you could quit, would you?

Yes. If my marriage were better and we had a bit more money then yes. If I were a SAHM in the right conditions, I would rather volunteer two days/week at my sons preschool, go to grad school, join a book club, knit/spin group, hike daily, volunteer to tutor children after school, foster children in need AND go back to work when my kids were older.....they are 2.5yo and 6mos. So I would love 5 years to do all these things and be in a better position with my grad degree for getting into the job I want and not the job I have.

absolutely! in an ideal world, I'd either find something VERY part time, or volunteer a few hours a week to stay sane...but as skeptical as I am about my ability to be a SAHM, I'd much prefer that to feeling like I've missed a majority of my babies' first years

Yes, but I would probably go back to school to become an RN.

Re: If you could quit, would you?

Nope. I am a supervisor at a hotel. I would probably quit the supervisor position and work at the front desk or housekeeping and work part time. I would only stay part time because I get an amazing discount at other hotels which is great for vacation.

Re: If you could quit, would you?

I am somewhere between. Before our son was born (9 months old now) I worked as a bank teller and was taking classes for a degree in marketing. I finished out the semester I was in before he was born so then put school on hold until we are finished having kids and they are a little older. I loved my job and went back for 3 weeks after he was born. That 3 weeks was AWFUL. I had trouble keeping up with breastfeeding so we switched to formula. (I regret that now) My mother watched him but didn't keep him on any kind of schedule which he thrives on (even as a newborn). He has always had his times to nap, eat, poop, everything all down to a T. While still on maternity leave I knew exactly when he would need what just by looking at the clock. Both my husband and I can't trust anyone but one or two people on either side to watch him b/c they either just don't keep an eye on him or when I get home (even from just a 1/2 day break to get groceries or something) he will be so exhausted b/c they weren't sensitive to his napping or feeding schedule. We moved 2hrs away from family b/c of my hubby's work and I stay at home now. I LOVE being home with him. I wouldn't want anyone else to raise him and I love that I get to be the first person who sees him learn new things. I also miss adult interaction though b/c we haven't really made any friends yet. (people in the area are VERY nice but tend to keep to themselves and so far I haven't found any playgroups). I'd love to go back PT but have trouble trusting people I don't know to keep our son. I prefer to stay home until our kids start school, then I'll try an find something pt probably.
