Baby carrier for plus size mamas

Hi I bought a carrier and had to return it because I guess I was too big for it and my baby would have been too high in it (real close to my face). So can you recommend a carrier good for plus size moms. TY

I'm plus size and the only one that I've had that I really liked was a Babyhawk with XL straps.

Hmmm, I'm plus sized and never had a problem with the carriers I've had (BabyHawk, FreeHand Mei Tai, Beco Butterfly)...

What type of carrier did you try? How old/what size is your baby? Do you have any friends that baby wear or a local support group so that you can "try before you buy" so you don't strike out again?

I've heard that Ella Belly carriers are great for plus size mamas! I borrowed one from a friend not long ago, and it was very well made. But I'm on the petite side, and it was too big for me. The friend I borrowed it from knows the WAHM who makes these, and says they're designed with plus size mamas in mind.

I am a plus size mama and have had good luck with the Beco Butterfly, Gemini, the Pikkolo(fave) and the Boba 3g.

I know you can get waist extenders for the Ergo and I believe they make a "fluffy" Moby Wrap.

You can also get a WAHM to make you a custom.

How old is the baby you'll be wearing and what positions are you looking for the carrier to do?

Re: Baby carrier for plus size mamas

I rented a Tula carrier (new to the US) a couple weeks ago and was amazed at how long the straps were and could adjust. The SSC's the come to mind first are a Tula, BBII, Gemini, O&A w/ XL straps (now an easy feature to add on to your carrier when you order and no longer requires a custom order).
