Thanks...i am really struggling to understand why my body doesn't seem to know what to do...maybe I'm just hormonal and being ridiculous

So I had my membranes stripped yesterday. The contractions have petered out, but I think I'm losing my mucus plug. I am not certain b/c the mucus is thick, chunky, stringy, and brown. It's on the toilet paper every time I wipe.

For those of you who lost your mucus plug, what did it look like?

I'm still believing for a miracle from God. I do NOT want to be induced.

That's it!! Yay!! Some people just bake babies longer. With my second I was 41+4, so I understand, but your body is doing it's thing now. It's shouldn't be much longer.

Anyone measure smaller towards/past their due date? At my appt yesterday (40+2), I measured one week smaller; went from 39 to 38weeks, so she said there's probably a good bit of baby in my pelvis. But then I checked out high and tight, which shouldn't have surprised me, but after that comment I think we both were a little shocked to be high and tight. :/

At my 40 week appointment I think I was only 32? Can't remember what I was the week before but I know baby was way down in my pelvis and she was born 2 days later.

I did. I was right on track until 37 weeks or so, then I started measuring 3-4 weeks behind. By the end baby was at 0 station but my cervix was still way posterior. At 41 weeks I was measuring 37 cms.

MoccaMom - You and I were due around the same time. I think our due dates were a day apart, or something. We are about in the same place, it seems.

Had my sonogram today and they said they think my baby is over 10 pounds. So of course they wanted to send me straight to the hospital to be induced. I have a call in to my midwife atm to see what she thinks but I also do NOT want to be induced. I was hoping to do the whole thing naturally this time.

Grossness alert: As far as the mucus plug, with my third baby I lost it in basically one whole chunk. It looked like someone blew their nose in my undies. I don't remember ever seeing it with either of my older kids. With this baby, I've been feeling kinda like you are, like I might be losing it slowly? Not sure.

Sending you some that you go into labor soon. Hopefully we will both get the labor & delivery we've been wishing for.

Michelle

You will likely measure smaller at the end as baby sinks further down! Totally normal!

I know you mamas are weary and ready just as I was!!!

I'm having trouble being inactive. Think I'm going to have to commit to bed rest. I am not good at just hanging out and doing nothing for the first two postpartum weeks and I am paying for that in blood gushes at the end of the day! I'm not even supposed to pick up my chubby 18 month old.... Soooo hard to obey that rule!

My midwife tells me about scary stories of a woman's uterus drooping out of her because she was too active! I realize now that I bled much longer after my previous births because I was too active! I'm hardly bleeding now except for when I over do it.

Re: Marchkins Chat 3/26 - 4/1

Sounds just like my mucus plug. I lost it over the week before my babe was born.

McMandy- it really does make a big difference. DD4 was born the first day of DH's spring break so he was home for 10 days and I was able to just sit and tend to the baby. He took care of the other kids, the house, dishes, laundry, etc. By the time he went back to work I was pretty much back to normal. For the last 3, he had to go back to work in a day or two and my recoveries were much longer.

My dh is taking this week and next week off too probably. That makes it easy for me to stay off my feet and rest. Especially since I don't have to pick dd1 up for anything.

My recovery this time is going so much better than with dd1. Pp bleeding with her last so long and heavy at first - this time it's so light I usually forget about it. I'm a little scared of how easy everything has been actually.

Thanks for your encouragement. I am sending labor vibes your way as well. Let's hope we DO get the labors we desire.

Blessings,
Tara
