Hello mamas! I will join in too (though don't tell my old due date group! We still talk over two years later!
)I just tested yesterday and my "guess date" is Dec 12th. This was our first month trying and we only dtd a few times - but it worked! So much different than with DS - he took two years to TTC. His birth was AMAZING at a free-standing birth center in Sanford, FL with an amazing midwife. I was hoping for a homebirth this time, but insurance will not cover a homebirth and I can't pay out of pocket this time - but there is a free-standing birth center about 1.5 hours away (which is not bad considering the closest hospital is also 1.5 hours away). Best part - insurance covers the CNM who works there. My DH and I have been married 3 years, together for 6. My son is 15 months old, his name is August. We have some chickens in the backyard and a garden and we hope to own a homestead in the hills of TN some day. Right now we are renters. I am hoping to become an apprentice midwife soon, though this pregnancy will slow down the progress a little. I have already become part of a study group of other midwives to learn the "book knowledge" and basics of exams, hands on skills, and "belly touching" as I like to call it. I felt it was a calling for me before my son's birth, and then after his birth I knew I *had* to do it.So...yep...that is me, in a nut shell. (okay, a big nut shell). |

Re: Dec. 2012 Mamas!!! Introduce yourselves :)
Well my name is Holly. DH and I have been married for 7.5 years. We have three boys. This baby was a surprise as I was TTA with NFP and diaphragm, but DH seems really cool about it so we're going with it.
I'm hoping for a girl this time, but I think DH only makes boy sperm or something so I'm skeptical. I will be graduating from CNM school in 4 weeks (woot!) and DH is finishing up his first year of med school. We have 1 cat (Darwin) and three angora bunnies (Vladimyr, Margaret and Bruce). I knit and spin in my free time (free time, ha!). Assuming I keep this pregnancy, I'll be planning a hospital VBAC. We breastfeed and bottlefeed, don't circ, do vax and my boys are obsessed with transformers. So that's us.

Re: Dec. 2012 Mamas!!! Introduce yourselves :)
Welcome everyone! Hey, I think we're on a boy run as well. I do have one girl but after three boys in a row, I'm pretty sure we only make boys now.

Re: Dec. 2012 Mamas!!! Introduce yourselves :)
Well, I'm NOT pregnant
, but my dd is expecting baby #2 in December. It looks like her edd is the 11th. Dgs just turned 8 months, so she is still nursing, and I think still in shock! ![]() Any other moms on here still nursing a little one? I'm hoping for advice for her with this aspect of the pg. It's been a LONG time since I nursed during a pg, and none of mine were this young when I conceived again. Excited to get to "know" yall - hope you don't mind me hanging out!

WOW!! Yours will be close buddies won't they?!? Dgs was born in August, 2011. I nursed into all my pregnancies, but none of mine were this young when I got pg again.

I'm still nursing but my little guy is 26 months so I don't really need to worry about supply. I nursed during my last pregnancy as well but my toddler was about 18 months at that time so again, I didn't really worry about supply. I usually start to see a decrease in supply around 5 months pregnant and from then on out it's just a comfort thing. As far as the health aspect, I just make sure to take my prenatal and I also add in an omega 3 supp and a calcium/mag/zinc supplement as well. Also, since the comfort nursing continued throughout my last pregnancy, it was an easy transition to tandem nursing if your dd is interested in that.

Also the only weird thing is that I never really completely stopped producing milk with my last pregnancy and it seemed like I just got an increase in supply, not colostrum. I don't know, it all seemed to work out fine, I just found that odd.
