Re: walmart flour sack towels, my new favs!!!

How did you sew them? Did you cut first or just fold and sew?

before i decided to sew them i folded them in half, then half again , then trifolded.

i folded them in half, then half again, then trifolded. then i cut off the thicker stitching at the top and cut them to the length i wanted, folded in that end and ironed it, i cut out some of the inside of the folded parts so it would sit flatter. then i just sewed around the edges. it took some time to iron and tuck everything, but now they lay nice and flat. i hope that makes sense....lol.

Re: walmart flour sack towels, my new favs!!!

I now have one dozen of these. I love them! I use them several different ways. I origami fold them and snappi them, sometimes with a doubler, sometimes not. Then I use a Sweet Pea cover. No leaks and SO trim! I also pad fold them into the cover. I have used them to stuff Blueberry OS pockets. So versatile and cheap! Here in the states, they are $5.48 for 5. Love them!!!

ETA: Even though I do sew, I have not sewed mine up. I think they dry faster and get cleaner not sewn. I just pad fold and stuff. For the origami fold, I prefold them, grab one, snappi it and done!

i agree about them getting cleaner when not sewn, i was torn about sewing, but in the end i am too lazy to pad fold 35 of these on laundry day. lol

Oh, and if not by the towels, try the art/craft/sewing area. Mine were randomly on an end cap in that area of walmart.

If you like them, try Sam's Club - they sell 24 for $15. I use them all over the house as well as for diapering!
