Rash only when wearing cloth? HELP!
My DS2 is 8 months and we've been battling a rash for a while now. I thought it was a suede cloth allergy so I sold all my BG's and bought Simplexes. During the transition while I was buying new diapers we saw his pedi and she had us make a concoction to put on his rash while wearing disposables. She said part of it was a yeast infection and the other part straight diaper rash. This cream mixture cleared the rash up and we kept applying for the full 10 days as told.
Then I put him in the freshly bought and laundered (and rinsed a bazillion times) Simplexes....and the rash instantly came back. Now I KNOW he can't possibly be allergic to 100% cotton!Has anybody else ever had this happen!? Suggestions!? I'm at a loss and ready to just burst into tears b/c I don't want to stop using my cloth!! Anything you can offer as a suggestion or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Re: Rash only when wearing cloth? HELP!
Rinse, Hot wash, 2 cold rinses. As far as detergent....I think right now we're using the military approved (so no optical brightener) Free and Clear All Small & Mighty. We have a HE top loader (which I really hate). I didn't wash with any old ones as they were all new.
I also did a few extra rinses I believe to make sure I got all the detergent out.

I'd try a new detergent.

This is the 3rd detergent I've tried.
The first with the Swaddlebees but 3rd starting with the BG's. I have like 3 bottles of detergent in my laundry room.Sent from my iPhone using DS Forum (which explains any and all typos!)

And I hope it's not PUL!! I don't know what else I could use! I'm allergic to wool so I can't use that.

Re: Rash only when wearing cloth? HELP!
Where is he getting the rash? My son can't do PUL or he gets rashy in the front, above his bits and on his inner thighs/scrotal area. We use fleece covers full time, it's similar to wool, and breathable enough that his skin stays nice and clear. Once I switched to fleece covers, he rarely had rash issues unless it was from a nasty poo.
Here's a link to our story (on facebook): http://www.facebook.com/note.php?not...87310381302998 ETA -- > full-time fleece is do-able

Re: Rash only when wearing cloth? HELP!
My ds also gets rashy in PUL (and sposies). Fleece is great. A trimmer option are nikky or niji breathable poly or cotton covers. They are very breathable and super thin. They just require washing warm with gentle detergents. I usually wash mine with regular laundry.
