My friend just lost her baby at 23 weeks

I feel so bad for her. I lost a baby at birth at 26 weeks and I know how hard it is. Now she lost her baby girl at 23 weeks. My heart is just breaking for her. Even though I have been where she has been I still dont know what to say.

Oh that's so sad just let her know that youre there for her and if she wants to talk.

What were things that you appreciated after the birth?

Maybe take her out to coffee?

Just "be there" for her

Re: My friend just lost her baby at 23 weeks

a baby loss is never easy. Dear friends of mine just lost their DD on Monday and they were due the day before I had a 20wk loss and as you already know having been there, there are no words to say. Just be supportive.

Re: My friend just lost her baby at 23 weeks

One of my friends actually bought me a charm with my baby's name on it. It meant a lot. But I know that people take things in different ways. I know a lady I tried to talk to when I lost my baby because I wanted to talk to someone that had been through it. She didnt want to talk about it at all where I do want to talk about it because I will not ever forget my little boy.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is so hard. That is terrible about your friend.

((((HUGS)))) Both for you, and for her.

We lost DFS at 2 years old (sent home after being here 2 years). What I appreciated were people calling, and one really nice friend made me dinner. Mostly, I appreciated when people weren't afraid to ask me about him. Some people are afraid they will make you upset, and it is like this big elephant in the room. I felt better when people asked me their questions (tactfully) and I was able to talk about it.

I'm so sorry to hear of your friend's loss. That is so heartbreaking. I too never know exactly what to say when horrible things like that happen
