BG sassy question

I just bought one. Will this bleed on the first few (hot) washes?
I've never prepped a single new diaper before, can I just wash this with my dirty diapers a few times?
Thanks!

I didn't have any issues with mine and I didn't prep them. I have both BG 4.0 and a Flip cover. Please don't be mad if your results aren't the same.

Re: BG sassy question

We've got a lot of BGs and the only ones that I have ever had that problem with is moonbeam. Sassy hasn't done this to me. You never know. If you are scared wash it on hot once with a load of towels. Is it a BGE? Those are the only ones that needed to be prepped more than once.

I had an issue with my newborn dazzle colors running when I prepped. Isn't that obvious but enough to notice

Re: BG sassy question

I have never had a bleeding issue with it, or any other BG. Obviously I can't promise the same result but the only time I've had a problem with bleeding PUL was with a red Planetwise pail liner that ran in its 3rd washing and tinted all my microfiber inserts pink. But even that washed out after a half dozen washes.

Re: BG sassy question

My Sassy Freetime bled onto the insert the second time I washed it. Didn't bother me though.

Re: BG sassy question

It is a BGE. Good idea with the load of towels. I've had bad luck with a red diaper turning cotton prints and inserts pink/red, but red is my favorite color

Does everyone actually wash a BGE 3-5 times to prep or does anyone wash once and wear (like you would a 4.0)?

None of my bright colors have ever bled, including Sassy. You could also put some vinegar in the wash when you are prepping it. Vinegar helps to set dye.

I just wash once and wear. Just know that they are not as absorbent and you have to change sooner.
