Re: What to Say When People Say Non-Circ Is Dirty?

Circing can cause skin tags/flaps. Not sure what it is called but a bit of the skin kind of folds over on it's self. This has to be cleaned out daily or it begins to smell. When you don't circ this doesn't happen. When I first saw this I didn't realize this was a common side effect of circing. I did a bit of research and found pics of more severe and harder to keep clean side effects of circing.

I would just say that this is baby #4 in my family and we have yet to have stink issues.

I agree that it's no different than having to keep a girl's privates clean. But for dealing with someone like that (an a$$ at work) I would say "I'm sure you know that the penis is the last thing you have to convince boys needs scrubbing during a shower"

Re: What to Say When People Say Non-Circ Is Dirty?

I had a friend who was an adult that was not circ'ed. There was a group of us discussing circing when someone made the "dirty comment". He said, "Last time I checked since it is still attached, I take in the shower with me everyday. " I just thought that was hilarious!
(I chose to circ my son. I think it is a personal choice. I would probably say something like "Dude, why do you care what my son's penis looks like? It's not like your ever going to see it!" )

Apparently you haven't had a son eek out a 5 month old smega pearl from his foreskin

ETA: Back to the OP....I couldn't help but be sarcastic to your co-worker and say something like "Our family is so ritzy, our house has running water!"

When people say things like that to me i usually say "well i'd rather teach him to clean himself properly then just part of his penis off."

Then i usually say "since there are no advantages to circing we decided against it...." If they question me I go further into detail.

Re: What to Say When People Say Non-Circ Is Dirty?

I think I would ask my coworker what business he has with my child's penis. A big mind your own business comes to mind. Politely of course. I have two little boys and neither is circd. We treat it like any other body part - wave it around in the tub with a little soap and we're done. I will say that my two year old keeps it impecably clean. It's always the first body part to receive bath paints, crayons, etc.

I would probably ask whose uncirc'd penis they had been sniffing to have acquired such an opinion...perhaps it was in the locker room where so much penis comparison goes on??? But I also think that if someone is brazen enough to ask such questions they invite a snarky comeback.

My mil (a doc no less so clearly she is an expert and I am not) is the only one who has provided negative comments on our choice to keep the boys intact. I'd wager outside of family that no one else we know has noticed nor really cares. If someone were to politely ask our reasoning I'm happy to share it - that doesn't sound like what you were having to respond to.

I would ask if they've heard of a thing called a shower? There are lots of folds and parts we all have to clean, and we don't cut them off! Argh!
