My insurance covers it just like my regular doc -- $15 copay per visit. DH's insurance treats the chiro as a specialist, so his copay would be $50 per visit! The chiro told us the OOP fee is only $35, so he just pays that and doesn't file on his insurance at all.

Re: Do you see a chiropractor?

I go every other week and it's fabulous. I pay $40/visit, or 4 for $100

I am so glad to hear to many good experiences! Luckily, my insurance does cover this. My first appointment is next Thursday, I cannot wait to have some relief!

Re: Do you see a chiropractor?

I've seen the range of chiropractic $30-80 a visit. The higher range being a different type of chiropractic adjustment, usually including muscle work and extremities and longer visits, in my experience. The usual I see is $45-55.

First visit is more generally $65-250, the higher end being due to x-rays. Personally if a chiro wants xrays I won't use their services as the best chiros I've been to don't own an xray machine because they don't need it.

Things I look for:
How long the appointment is (at least 15 minutes which is not typical)
Will they use an activator for neck?
Do they do muscle work?
Extremities?
Do they do the basic 7 adustments? (not for me)
Do they check you AFTER the adjustment
Do they check in with you after the appointment/ask if everything feels ok after the adjustment?
Do they use muscle testing?
Do they make me sign any kind of treatment plan? (not for me)
Do they adjust pregnant woman and children?
Are they comfortable adjusting me in labor? (not necessary but nice for when pregnant)
Are you comfortable talking to them and having them touch sensitive areas? (ex. pubic symphisis, butt cheeks, low ligaments etc)
Do they give advice on exercises/stretches, way to keep from hurting again?
Do they check feet? Do they adjust feet if needed? (using activator)
Do they know how to adjust ribs besides the basic adjustment of hugging and rolling me back? (my chiro now doesn't do this one)

I have a chiro now that does all these things and more. She's absolutely wonderful and charges $50. I drive 3.5 hours to see her and visits last 30-60 minutes depending on what's going on. I've been to our in town chiro, who charges $45 and does the basic 7 adjustments. The visit lasts 5 minutes, he doesn't check his adjustments after, I've gone once and he will not be getting any more money from us!

Yay! You might check to see if the chiro is Webster technique certified, which means s/he has specialized training to treat pregnant women.

Re: Do you see a chiropractor?

Didn't read the other responses, but I did, at the gentle urging of my doula and I'm glad I did. It helped.

Re: Do you see a chiropractor?

I've been seeing one from 7 weeks. I went in today in pain and feel much better this evening. My chiro also uses acupuncture. I havent used it, but DH has.
