Dd has the same brown color from when she was about 6 months old. Ds#1 his eyes got lighter blue grey till about 2 and Ds#2 had brown eyes till about 3 or 4 and then they got lighter and lighter till he was about 10 they are now a green hazel.

Re: When did your baby's eyes settle on a color?

My DD was born with dark brown eyes and DS was born with bright blue eyes and now, at 4 and 2, they both have the exact same colors they were born with!

Re: When did your baby's eyes settle on a color?

Both my kids were born with dark blue eyes. They lightened over the first few months and then were just a pretty blue. (See my avatar!) My DD's (4.5) now are a super light gray with maybe a hint of green. I first realized that they weren't blue any more when I took her picture, was going to play with her eye color in photoshop by intensifying the blue and realized that nothing was changing! There was no blue there, they were completely gray!

My DS's are still blue, but he is 2.5, they are darker than his sisters.

I have no clue when they will change, since mine changed when I was a teen. I always had a blueish green, then around the time I got my drivers license and had to fill out eye color, they were gray. Now they are very, very green - an army green. So who knows? Maybe my kids' eyes will keep changing too!

DS had dark blue eyes at birth and just lightened up! They have stayed the same bright blue since 6 months! I hope they don't change

DD was born with blue eyes and now at six months they are blue around the pupil and are a teal green around the edges!

DH has caramel brown eyes and I have hazel eyes

Re: When did your baby's eyes settle on a color?

Both my boys had my blue eyes when born. My ODS's eyes have slowly changed to look more like DH's green eyes (DS is pushing 5). My younger DS kind of looks like his will turn too and he is 2.

So assuring to hear all these accounts of color changing beyond 12 months. Everything I've read and heard from "experts" and text books says that permanent color is established around 12 months. My eyes were a bright light/medium blue until 4-5ish. Then suddenly they're hazel (mostly olive green) in my kindergarten pictures, and have been since. I thought I was a fluke.
Mom's are light blue, dad's are "hazel" - also blue, but with a solid ring of brown in the center.

My DH has green/brown hazel. His mother had light green eyes, dad's unknown.

The genetic possibilities for our children are endless. I can't wait to see what they'll be, and when :lub:

Dd was born with dark blue eyes. They became lighter by 6 months and stayed that way until around her 4th birthday. Now they're grayish. I have hazel eyes and my husband has brown eyes (ds has bright blue eyes.) We're interested to see how they both end up!

I've got the same thing going on... ODD's eyes were dark, brownish by this point I'm sure (kind of muddy green)... YDD's eyes are still vibrant blue in sunlight and I'm hoping they'll stay that way, but still expecting them to change. I have blue eyes, DH has brown... ODD has brown; I think they settled at a few months old (4-6 months I believe)...
