Re: Do you have an underweight child?

I have a small girl. She is 22 mths and 19lbs in a diaper. She is 30.5 inches tall. According to growth charts, 50% of girls her age are about 26lbs and about 33.5 inches tall. She was born average at 7lbs but t 3 mths fell off the growth charts. I worried at first, but her ped didn't worry and dh was very small as a child (still is not big at 5'7" and 140lbs) She was 13lbs at a yr and dh was 15lbs at a yr. She has actually gained faster the past few mths than ever before.

As long as she is eating well, developing right, happy and healthy I am not going to worry about her.

Here she is at 21 mths next to her slightly below average 9 week old brother. They now both wear size 2 sposie diapers and the lowest rise on bge's. Won't be long and they will be sharing clothes....assuming he keeps the same curve (he is about 35% on the charts) She wears 12 mth clothes and sometimes people will comment that she is too small to be walking! They are surprised when I say she is almost 2
