Were your kids more excited about candies or toys?

I know kids from Christian families are probablly most excited about Jesus, but next to that, were your kids more excited about the easter candies, or easter toys?

The girls got glitter pens and a majic tree house book in their baskets. The first thing dd1 did after hunting was read her new book and then went straight upstairs to make a picture. The first thing dd2 did was grab her largest piece of choclate and chow down. So one of each for me lol

My kids were excited about the candy, games, and playing with all of their cousins. The only toys they got were a few dollar store trinkets in their goodie bags.

Toys definitely. My son barely touched any of his candy but he opened all his toys and played with all of them.

Re: Were your kids more excited about candies or toys?

my teens were ecstatic bc they got good earbuds. they have been carrying their candy buckets around, munching though as well .
The toddler has been clutching his bus and plastic animals and sleeping with them. When he sees someone eating some candy, he says, "choc" and then I get him a small piece of his from his basket.

We are a Christian family but DD was not concerned about Jesus lol she is 3. Toys and candy will usually win. She was more excited about toys seeing as she got very little candy. She got a pez dispenser and a small gummy candy. The rest was toys, pajamas, panties, pacis and games for her toy (leapster). Honestly the pacis were the hit lol

Re: Were your kids more excited about candies or toys?

Well, there was no other...

This is the first year my 3 yr old really really got the holiday. She didn't quite get into the anticipation of the "easter bunny" coming. We do the bunny but didn't make it a huge deal. She was however SUPER SUPER excited about dying eggs. She liked the candy, she liked the stuffed animal bunny, but she LOVED doing the eggs.

LOL - older DD - bandaids. Younger DD - chocolate. The chocolate stopped her in her tracks and that was that.

I tried to explain Easter to my 4 year old and we got stuck when we got the part where Jesus died. We didn't make it past that part.
