Gassy baby after feeding...help?

Dd will be 2 weeks old on Wednesday. Several times yesterday and twice today she's been gassy after feeding her at the breast. We started out with some latch problems but she seems to have figured it all out. We went to the lc at a week old for a follow up and she said we were doing great. I've been feeding her in a cross-cradle position. Is there maybe a better position to help prevent the gas? I have been pumping and DH's been feeding her what I call a sanity bottle at some point during the day or night...whenever I need a break longer than the space between two feedings. She doesn't seem to be gassy after a bottle. She's my first so we're both still pretty new at this. Any ideas would be appreciated.

DD was very gassy when she was a newborn as well. I eliminated dairy and caffeine from my diet as much as possible and we started her on probiotic drops. All of this made a huge difference. Side lying nursing is supposed to help with gas too

Gas. Spit up. Even the horrible kind, is normal. Immature systems learning how to do things. Just learn how to help LO, do bicycle kicks, Pply pressure, ect. Gas in a two week old is pretty normal, I'm afraid

This is what our pedi told us. I also cut of caffeine and noticed a big difference.

Yeah, caffeine and dairy are not really that great for mommys as it is... So some babies get icky about them too. GL!

Re: Gassy baby after feeding...help?

Thanks ladies. Caffeine is already almost non-existent in my diet. Going to cut back on dairy (don't know if I can completely cut it out...it's my favorite food group!) and see if that helps.
